CONNECTICUT COLLEGE is hiring part-time/on call (up to 16 hrs. /wk. scheduled during the academic year - 40 weeks), Campus Safety Officers. Additional on call hours will be available on an as needed basis over the full year (52 weeks) based on the officers availability. The Campus Safety Officer will be responsible for maintaining the security of persons and property at Connecticut College.  The officer will perform routine security and safety patrol duties and provide first-line response, emergency management and/or referral as necessary.  Day, Night and Weekend Shifts available.  Position pays $19.57.

The Campus Safety Officer will maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity; perform all duties impartially; enforce all College rules and regulations; respond appropriately to emergency calls, and conduct thorough preliminary investigations; prepare detailed reports of all investigations/complaints; recognize and report all unsafe conditions; issue tickets for parking and moving violations; and identify and remove unauthorized person or vehicles from college property. The officer must have the ability to make sound decisions and have good judgment when faced with situations. In addition, the officer must possess a valid driver’s license.

High school graduate with 2-5 years related experience needed; some college preferred. Must be able to write clear and concise reports, possess a valid Driver’s License and have no prior criminal record; will be necessary to qualify in CPR and First Aid.

Connecticut College requires employees to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. This includes the booster vaccine. New employees must present their COVID-19 vaccination record to Human Resources prior to the first day of employment. Individuals who have a medical condition or sincerely held religious beliefs that prevent them from getting the vaccine may confidentially request an exemption through the office of Human Resources. Additional COVID-19 safety protocols such as participation in weekly testing will be required of faculty, staff and students who have approved vaccine exemptions.
