CONNECTICUT COLLEGE, is conducting a national search for two strongly motivated, imaginative individuals to assist in planning and implementing student recruitment strategies to help Connecticut College achieve enrollment goals in addition to planning, coordinating and supervising specific admissions programs or projects.  This position is highly visible and a key role within the Admission Department, as this position is responsible for representing the College to college counselors, prospective students and their parents. The compensation is competitive and is complimented by an excellent benefits package.

The Assistant Director will interpret educational policy and institutional mission of the College to perpetuate its intellectual quality; manage special projects and work to develop new and create programs to enhance prospect development.   The Assistant Director will  maintain and increase the selectivity, quality and diversity of the applicant pool and matriculates through a variety of recruitment and yield activities; interact with current students, faculty, administrators, alumni and the public to develop and coordinate on and off campus recruitment programs; provide information and counseling to prospective students, parents and counselors by conducting interviews, group presentations, school visits, receptions and application follow-up; interact with current students, faculty, administrators, alumni to develop and coordinate on and off campus recruitment programs; review applications and recommend candidates for admission; and prepare statistical and area reports.   The Assistant Director must also be able to effectively articulate the nature and aims of an undergraduate, residential liberal arts education in the context of sensitivity towards and knowledge about the backgrounds of an increasingly diverse candidate pool.

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably from a residential, liberal arts college, a minimum of one year of admission experience required.  Outstanding interpersonal, public speaking and writing skills and a commitment to working with diverse groups of students is also essential.  The ability to make clear and concise presentations and create/execute innovative admission programs will be essential for our success.  Candidates must have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Must be committed to working with a diverse environment and interacting collegially with individuals of different backgrounds. Connecticut College requires employees to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. This includes the booster vaccine.
